Building & Zoning Permits
Essentially, any construction, renovation, or change in use of a structure
or property requires a building permit, a zoning permit, or both. All necessary
forms are located on this site, or on request from the Permitting Department.

Vision & Planning; Planning Commission
The Planning Commission performs the planning for the town to articulate
and implement a vision for the future of Bennington.

Development Review Board
This board is responsible for reviewing and issuing land use permits for all
significant development in the Town of Bennington.

The Development Review Board meets bi-monthly on the first and third Tuesdays of the month.
The Planning Commission meets monthly, normally the first Wednesday of the month.

ALL APPLICANTS FOR A PERMIT FOR COMMERCIAL PROJECTS, SUBDIVISIONS AND VARIANCES SHOULD CONTACT THE TOWN’S PLANNING DIRECTOR (permits@benningtonvt.org or 802-442-1037) FOR AN
INFORMAL REVIEW OF THE PROJECT BEFORE ANY PERMIT APPLICATIONS ARE SUBMITTED TO THE TOWN.
